Weigle - Martha Smith

LAFAYETTE – Mrs. Martha L. Weigle, 49, of Rt. 1, Lafayette, died Wednesday in Home Hospital after being ill for eight weeks. She was born in the Linden area Nov. 7, 1921 to Hume and Goldie Asher Smith. Her mother preceded her in death. She was married to Orville “Red” Weigle on July 13, 1940, at Linden. Surviving besides her husband and father, both of Lafayette, are five sons, Robert, James, Ronny, Larry and Gary, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Sutton of Linden and Mrs. Doris Bulington of West Point; three brothers, Melvin, Eugene and Junior, all of Lafayette and six grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Rev. Clyde A. Trumbauer of Otterbein United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday in Vogel-Johnston Funeral Chapel at Otterbein. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 4-9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mt. Montmorenci Cemetery. – jlr
